SLOW FLOW
Milan, IT / Chiaravalle is a small village in the south of the city of Milan, where congestion and frenzy are part of the identity of a big city. In the project, Chiaravalle aims at slowing down the flow of the metropoly. From the Vettabbia park starts the wooneft street that goes through the whole village, connecting Cascina San Bernardo to the Chiaravalle Abbey, to Cascina La Grangia. At the sides, public spaces and installations are positioned, offering the possibility to see Chiaravalle from different perspectives. The project in Cascina La Grangia has a courtyard divided by walls, creating spaces to rest and slow down time. Cascina La Grangia is multifunctional, the building is not seen as a destination point of the woonerf, it is rather a starting point to go back to the city with a calm and slow flow.
